This program, Cultivating Resilience Through Agriculture and Food Training (CRAFT) seeks to provide full scholarships and academic support for motivated students in majors related to the science of food, nutrition, and social and personal interactions, including applications of biology, chemistry, sociology, criminology, and data analysis to promote planetary and community health.

As a CRAFT Scholar, you will visit working research sites and facilities dedicated to food safety, nutrition and climate change, and learn how these areas impact community sustainability, racial equality, and disease prevention. You鈥檒l learn, experience and gain skills that prepare you to join a workforce tackling these important local and global issues.

Plus, you鈥檒l receive a substantial scholarship and academic support throughout your four years at 香港六合彩官网开奖 as long as you remain eligible!*

Ready to break through and Cultivate Resilience through Agriculture and Food Training?

New applicants to CRAFT Scholars must:

  • Be a US citizen, national, or legal permanent resident
  • Have a high school cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better (on a 4.0 scale)听
  • Enter 香港六合彩官网开奖 in Fall 2024 as a first-time full-time degree-track student in one of the eligible majors: Biology (including Marine Biology), Chemistry (including Biochemistry specialization), Computer Science (with Data Analytics Specialization only), Criminology, Mathematics (with Data Analytics Specialization only), or Sociology
  • Demonstrate unmet financial need, determined by 香港六合彩官网开奖's Financial Aid Office and the FAFSA
  • Submit a letter from a high school teacher or community leader (described further on below)
  • Submit a video or essay (described further below)

Information About Your Submission

Application Essay/Video

We hope to welcome you soon into our exciting CRAFT Scholars program. The short essay/ video is your opportunity to tell us about yourself and how you see yourself as an active participant in this vital program.

Details about what to write are in the application form.

Essay: 750-word count maximum. 12-point font. Be sure to include your full name at the top of the essay. (Note: Only MS Word and PDF files are accepted)

Video: 5-minute maximum. Provide a link from YouTube, Vimeo, Google Drive, etc. (Make sure the video is set to be shared with anyone who has the link.)

Letter of Recommendation

Have a teacher from your high school, a听香港六合彩官网开奖 faculty or staff,听a counselor or听a community leader who knows you well enough, write a letter that describes your ability to succeed as a member of CRAFT.Please have them submit the letter directly to听CRAFTscholars@barry.edu听they must include your name in the subject line.
