Biography
Deborah Montoya, a student in the MS in Leadership and Innovation program, began her ϲʹ life in 2016 as a student, subsequently as staff, and later graduating with a bachelor’s degree in Liberal Studies with a minor in Psychology in 2020. Being a ϲʹ staff member has provided her with the opportunity to live out her vocation and ministry through the Office of Campus Ministry. Deborah shared “As the Coordinator of Spiritual Life Programming, my goal is to create environments that support and provide students with the opportunity to explore their spirituality in a non-traditional way. One of my recent accomplishments has been the implementation of the Campus Ministry Community Food Pantry.” The Campus Ministry Community Pantry exemplifies and reinforces ϲʹ’s mission to learn, reflect and serve. As a result of her work in the food pantry, she has become aware of her desire to further enhance the student experience through the continuation of her education. According to Deborah, “The MS in Leadership and Innovation program has been instrumental in solidifying my understanding of the needs of the whole human being, by providing education and the understanding of service throughout the process of learning.”
