FAFSA Verification Verification is a quality control measure used to check the accuracy of the information submitted on the FAFSA.

What is Verification?

Verification is a quality control measure used to check the accuracy of the information submitted on the FAFSA. Each year, the Department of Education randomly selects approximately 30% of all FAFSA applicants for verification. If you are selected, you will receive notification from our office.

Schools are required to collect certain documents to confirm the information reported on the FAFSA. Documentation may vary from student to student. In addition to a verification worksheet, other documents may include (but are not limited to):

  • Federal tax return
  • W-2 forms
  • IRS Non-filing letter
  • Proof of high school completion
  • Government issued ID鈥檚

Note:聽Your financial aid is on hold until verification is completed. If your financial aid changes as a result of verification, we will notify you with an updated award letter.

What must I do if I am selected for Verification?

If your FAFSA is selected for verification, you should upload the requested documents to the聽. You should complete verification as early as possible to your financial aid isn鈥檛 delayed.

The final deadline to complete verification is September 1 of the following aid year, or 120 days from your last date of enrollment, whichever is earlier.

How will verification affect my financial aid?

If the information on your documents matches the information on your FAFSA, there will be no changes to your financial aid. However, if the information does not match, we are required to make corrections and update your FAFSA. As a result, your financial aid may remain the same, increase or decrease. If your financial aid changes, you will be notified via email.

Any federal aid, as well as need-based state and institutional aid will be placed on hold until verification is complete.

Where do I submit my financial aid documents?

Verification documents should be uploaded to the聽. Log in using your 香港六合彩官网开奖 email and password to view your outstanding tasks.

If this your first time accessing the portal, you鈥檒l be asked for some basic information to authenticate your account:

  1. Go to聽.
  2. Click the 鈥淐reate Account鈥 link
  3. Enter/Confirm your student information: First name and last name (exactly as it was entered on your FAFSA and appears on your Social Security Card), Date of Birth, and Social Security Number
  4. Click 鈥淐reate Account鈥 Button

Once your account is created, your tasks will appear in the portal.
